Welcome to Felix Klein Center for Mathematics

The well-established networking and inter-institutional research cooperation of the Department of Mathematics of University of Kaiserslautern and the Fraunhofer Institute for Industrial Mathematics has been documented by the foundation of the Felix Klein Center for Mathematics. It was founded at the end of 2008 as a part of the »Initiatives in Mathematics«. These initiatives are a cooperation effort between the Rhineland-Palatinate state government, the Department of Mathematics of University of Kaiserslautern and the Fraunhofer Institute for Industrial Mathematics. Thanks to the combination of the widely recognized and outstanding research programs of the department of mathematics, and the open-to-the-world and practically oriented projects of the Fraunhofer ITWM, the Felix Klein Center will undoubtedly strengthen the position of Kaiserslautern in the field of mathematics.

The center’s name honors the mathematician and organizer of science Felix Klein (1849-1925).
