Our Felix Klein Scholarship for Bachelor’s and Master’s Degree Programs in Mathematics

Support for Mathematics Students in Kaiserslautern

Our Bachelor’s Scholarships in »Mathematics« or »Business Mathematics«

Starting university is an exciting time. With our Felix Klein Scholarship, we provide both moral and financial support:

  • High school graduates and prospective students who wish to study for a bachelor's degree in mathematics (e.g., with a specialization in technical mathematics) or a bachelor's degree in business mathematics at RPTU in Kaiserslautern.
  • Students enrolled in the distance learning program Early Start in Mathematics (FiMS) before beginning on-campus studies
  • Studierende des Fernstudienprogramms Früheinstieg ins Mathematik-Studium (FiMS) vor Aufnahme des Präsenzstudiums
  • Students enrolled in a bachelor's degree program in mathematics who wish to transfer to RPTU in Kaiserslautern to continue their studies

You can apply yourself or be nominated by a teacher from upper secondary school or a university lecturer.

Persons who meet the requirements of § 8 (1) to (3) BAföG are eligible to apply. This includes, in particular, all German citizens and, as a rule, foreign nationals who have obtained their educational qualifications in Germany and persons with permanent residence in Germany. In addition, recognized asylum seekers, recognized refugees, or persons entitled to subsidiary protection are also eligible; persons with temporary leave to remain are only eligible after a 15-month waiting period.

Please note: We do not support students who have already begun a bachelor's degree in mathematics or business mathematics at RPTU in Kaiserslautern. The minimum duration of support for bachelor's degree students is two semesters from the start of the scholarship.

And After Your Bachelor’s Degree? Our Master’s Scholarship Can Help You Here Too!

Students enrolled in a bachelor's degree program in mathematics who are planning to pursue a master's degree in financial and insurance mathematics, mathematics, technical mathematics, business mathematics, or mathematics international at the University of Kaiserslautern-Landau (RPTU) are eligible to apply.

There should be a strong connection to applied mathematics. The chosen focus of study for the master's degree must be in one of the following areas:

  • Analysis and stochastics (e.g., image processing and data analysis, stochastic analysis)
  • Modeling and scientific computing (e.g., partial differential equations, system and control theory)
  • Optimization and stochastics (e.g., business mathematics, financial mathematics, optimization, statistics)

Students can apply themselves or be nominated by a university lecturer.

Persons who meet the requirements of § 8 (1) to (3) BAföG are eligible to apply.
