From Jeu de taquin to MV-Cycles
By its very nature, representation theory lies at the intersection of several fields: algebraic geometry, number theory, differential geometry, combinatorics, … The same object in representation theory can be studied using algebraic geometry, combinatorics, differential geometry and so on.
Using the example of the general linear group, we would like to give a guided tour starting with the combinatorial models for representation developed by Lascoux and Schützenberger to the more recent construction of representations by Mirkovich and Vilonen.
Speaker: Prof. Dr. Peter Littelmann, University of Cologne
